Denali Sells $1.25 Million Galileo (IRE) Mare During Book 1, Session 1 of Keeneland November
Thursday, November 7, 2019

Denali Stud landed 5th on the Leading Consignor’s list out of 36 total consignors for book 1, session 1 of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. We sold 8 horses for a total of $4,320,000 and an average of $540,000. Congratulations to the buyers on your purchases, and we wish you the best of luck with them in the future!

Our highest priced mare sold from our consignment during book one was hip 208, Conquest (IRE). This daughter of Galileo (IRE) was sold as a broodmare prospect carrying her first foal by Justify and purchased for $1.25 million by  buyers Peter and Bonnie McCausland for Erdenheim Farm Thoroughbreds. James Wigan , their agent, bid on their behalf and was happy to sign the ticket on the mare. “It's a beautiful family," Wigan said. "Galileo mares are, as we all know, very, very good. It's a wonderful cross. She's in foal to a good stallion and has one of the strongest pedigrees in the book. We were sort of stretching ourselves (to land the winning bid), but we're very happy to have her." (Bloodhorse quote)

Bred in Ireland by Orpendale, Chelston, and Wynatt out of the group 1winning Danehill Dancer mare Lillie Langtry, Conquest is a full sister to champion group 1 winner Minding.

"She is a gorgeous mare, really well built, well balanced, and from an incredible family," said Conrad Bandoroff of Denali. "When you look at her, you're like, 'This is a mare that's going to get me a nice horse.'" (Bloodhorse)
