Adena Springs bred and Denali graduate BOURBON BAY followed up his 4 ¼ length win in the San Luis Obispo with a win in the Grade II San Luis Rey H. BOURBON BAY came home under steady handling in a solid time of 2:24.08 for the 1 ½-mile distance. The 4-year-old son of Sligo Bay stands atop the region’s turf division heading into the meet closing, the 1 ¾-mile San Juan Capistrano Invitational H. on April 18. Trainer Neil Drysdale collected his fourth San Luis Rey victory, this time for owners David and Jill Heerensberger.
