War Chant - Mississippi Lights

Victory March

Victory March

This great-looking colt by War Chant is out of the mare Mississippi Lights, by Majestic Light. He has excellent conformation and an A+ (top 12 of 1 %) biomechanical rating, which has produced an exceptionally high percentage of stakes winners.

War Chant won 5 races in 7 starts and earned $1,130,600. He was an electrifying winner of the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Mile on the turf, as well as the Grade 2 Oak Tree Breeders' Cup Mile and the Grade 2 San Rafael Stakes. As a sire, he has already produced eighteen stakes horses from his first two crops with Grade/Group 1 horses in the United States and Europe.

War Chant is by Danzig, who was one of the greatest sires of all time. Danzig sired more than 20 Champions, as well as numerous Grade 1 winners and a number of Classic Winners. His offspring earned over $100 million. He is an established sire of sires, his son Danehill is the all-time leading sire of stakes winners with over 300.

War Chant's dam is Hollywood Wildcat. She was a champion 3-year-old filly who earned $1,432,160 between ages 2 and 5. She won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Distaff, Grade 1 Hollywood Oaks, Grade 1 Gamely Handicap, etc. In addition to being a great racehorse, she was an excellent broodmare and produced four stakes winners.

Mississippi Lights has produced six foals of racing age, including a 2-year-old of 2007. Five of the foals are winners and one is a Graded Stakes Winner. Her first dam produced a multiple Stakes Winner who earned $3,660,979 in Japan. Her second dam produced Lite Light, who earned $1,231,596 and won the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks, the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks, the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes, the Grade 2 Fantasy Stakes, the Grade 2 Oak Leaf Stakes, the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes, etc.

This colt was foaled in Kentucky and is eligible for the Breeders' Cup. We feel that with his excellent conformation and pedigree, he has the potential to be an excellent racehorse and stallion prospect. Based on his pedigree, we expect him to excel on the turf and synthetic surfaces, but his biomechanical rating indicates that he should also be very competitive on the dirt.
