ZOW, sold for $80,000 at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale of NY Breds, won the Gold and Roses S. at Saratoga on Sept. 2. Bred by Vivien G. Malloy, Edition Farm & Racehorse Management LLC, the NY bred son of Bluegrass Cat is owned by Repole Stable and trained by Todd Pletcher. A two length debut winner at Belmont on July 1, ZOW was backed down to heavy favoritism here. Holding an uncontested lead through spilts of :23.49 and :47.72, and protecting his advantage in the lane, ZOW gave his meet-leading connections a ¾ length win.
