ARROWFIELD SETS FEE FOR ANIMAL KINGDOM
Classic winner and champion Animal Kingdom will stand for Aust$38,500 (about $40,000 in United States funds) when he enters stud this year at John Messara’s Arrowfield Stud in Australia.
Animal Kingdom, the 2011 winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) who last month impressed with a victory in the $10 million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) for Team Valor International, will stand at Arrowfield during the Southern Hemisphere breeding season and then return to the U.S. for the 2014 Northern Hemisphere breeding season.
In the U.S., the son of Leroidesanimaux who has earned more than $8.3 million, will stand at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington.
Arrowfield also announced that Castleton Lyons’ shuttle stallion Gio Ponti will stand for Aust$16,500 ($17,150 in U.S. funds).
Redoute’s Choice tops Arrowfield’s stallion roster with a 2013 fee of Aust$137,500 ($142,917 in U.S. funds).
