ANIMAL KINGDOM TO BEGIN GALLOPING
Friday, November 04, 2011
Trainer Graham Motion said Thursday that Animal Kingdom, who has not raced since finishing fifth in the Belmont Stakes – a race from which he emerged with a slab fracture to his left hind leg – will begin galloping Monday at the Fair Hill training center in Maryland. Animal Kingdom, as well as Wood Memorial winner Toby’s Corner, have been jogging for a month and also using an Aquatred, according to a report in the Daily Racing Form.
“Sometimes they do both on the same day,” Motion said. “So they have a pretty good bottom underneath them.”
Motion said both horses could be ready to race by the end of January or early February.
