BRIGANTIN CAPTURES THE PRIX DE LUTECE AT LONGCHAMP

Elisabeth Fabre and Team Valor, owners of BRIGANTIN and co-breeders with Denali Stud & Partners celebrated the first Group win by their listed stakes winner by Cozzene out of Banyu Dewi. Winner of the Swiss Derby at Frauenfeld, BRIGANTIN was positioned last of the six runners for most of this 1 7/8mT marathon, he responded to urging off the home turn to challenge approaching the final eighth and stayed on best in cozy fashion. “This is a good moment as an owner-breeder following Zinziberine in the Criterium de Maisons-Lafitte,” explained trainer Andre Fabre’s wife Elisabeth Fabre. “There was an administrative error which meant he didn’t carry the correct weight at Vichy last time and that is why he was disqualified. The plan is to now bring him back here for the [Oct. 2 G2] Prix Chaudenay and he will also be entered in Arqana’s Arc Sale which will take place on the same day.”
