DENALI FOALED & RAISED PLUCK TRAINING TOWARD IRISH GUINEAS
Team Valor International and Vinery Stable’s PLUCK, who completed a last to first rally to win the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G2) is on target fo the Abu Dhabi Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1) on May 21 at the Curragh.
Trainer Graham Motion and Team Valor President Barry Irwin announced their intention to point he More Than Ready colt to the Irish classic after Team Valor transferred all its horses to British-born trainer Motion, who is based in Maryland, last fall.
“I’d like to get a race for him prior to that,” Motion said. “I imagine it will be at Keeneland in the Transylvania S. (G3) on the turf on April 8.”
“I remember when Fourstars Allstar was trained on the East Coast and was sent over to win the Irish Two Thousand Guineas,” Irwin said. “I always had in mind to try to duplicate that feat if we ever came up with a proper candidate. I think Pluck could be the horse. I mentioned this to Graham and he shares my enthusiasm for the prospect.”
