NEW STAKES WINNER AND A STAKES PLACER AT MONMOUTH

Sunday, August 01, 2010

Haskell day was another bright spot for Denali sales graduates. OMNISCIENT, a four-year-old son of Pulpit won the Majestic Light Stakes. The graded placed Stonestreet color bearer tracked the leader in second through splits of :24.08, :48.37 and 1:12.75, before taking over in the stretch while repelling a bid from accomplished veteran Cool Coal Man for a two-length success. Jockey Calvin Borrel said “my horse kept digging. I got my horse to relax early on, and when I called on him, he came running. He was really game all the way to the wire.” Also on the Monmouth card in the Taylor Made Matchmaker S.-G3 was the accomplished El Prado mare QUIET MEADOW. Bred by Bridlewood and sold by Denali the five-year-old mare missed the win by a half a length.
