A $125,000 Fasig-Tipton NY sale graduate, WICKED DIVA, captured the Saratoga Dew S. on September 3. The NY bred filly went straight to the front in the 1 1/8m event and was given an easy lead. She responded when called upon and won the $70,000 stakes by a head. The Michael E. Hushion trainee and color bearer was bred by Hidden Lake Farm, Richard Gallagher & Joan Simpson. The following day TROPIC STORM racing for West Point Thoroughbreds captured the one mile Windy Sands H. at Del Mar. Sold by Denali at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale, TROPIC STORM went wire-to-wire to win the $75,000 stakes by 2 ΒΌ lengths. Bred by the late Arthur Appleton in Florida, TROPIC STORM is multiple graded-stakes placed and took to the synthetic track in just his second career start over the surface.
